 Morning Zoom Meeting at 8:30am everyday 


Reminders:

Early Dismissal is not permitted for children who have doctor appointments. If your child has a doctors appointment he/she is to attend virtually for the day. 

Children may wear costumes Friday. 

November 13th, 12:00 noon early dismissal for virtual parent teacher conferences.

Activities 

Math: Have your child choose to colors of construction paper, cut out a few heart shapes with your child. Demonstrate what a pattern is. Have them replicate the pattern on their own piece of paper and glue it.

Safe and Sound by Jean Roussen

 

Questions:

  • Animals live in many different places. Where do some of the animals in this book live?
  • How do the big animals in this book keep the little animals safe and sound?
  • How do your grown-ups keep you safe and sound?
  • Your teachers are grown-ups and they help to keep you safe at school. What are some things that teachers do to keep you safe?

ART: Who are some people that keep you safe? Draw or paint  a picture of them. 




Wednesday 


Today's book is Feelings by Sarah Jennings 

With three year olds it is important to discuss feelings, allow them to express themselves too that that feel understood. Compromise with them instead of dismissing them. 

You can also play this video The Way I Feel by Janan Cain

Often ask your children how they are feeling, and why. 


Library: Have your child pick a book of his or her choice and read it to them. Throughout the reading ask them questions to keep them entertain and build knowledge. 

Some questions can be:


• Tell me about this book. • This reminds me of _______.

• Have you read this book before? When? Where?

• This book makes me feel ______. How does it make you feel?

• What do you notice in this picture?

• What book would you like to read? Why?

    • Teachers will be working with children to build a relationship with each child.

    Book: Owl Babies by Martin Waddell

      Questions 

    ·       Where did the owls in this book live?

    ·       When the baby owls woke up, they noticed their mummy was gone. Where did the baby owls think she went?

    ·       What did Bill say while his mummy was gone?

    ·       How did the baby owls feel when their mummy came back?



    Learning the letter Tt song 


    Have children write the letter Tt or just simply try to write it 3 times.

    How to make Play-dough at home 


    With younger children it is important for them to have a visual of things to follow so that it becomes more understanding for them, as well as repetition. 

    For example how to use the bathroom and how to wash your hands are important. 






    Tuesday

    Love is a Truck by Amy Novesky

    • What are some of the truck the boy has? 
    • What are the trucks used for?


    Blocks: They may begin to create enclosures and start to explore concepts of sorting, ordering, counting, one to one correspondence, size and shape. Later, children begin to combine structures and build vertically. Additionally, their block play may become more social in nature. Hand your children Blocks, Lego, or any building materials that you may find around the house. Let them explore the objects and observe what they do. 


    Ask them open-ended questions like:

     • I notice that you ____.

    • This reminds me of ________.

    • You put this ______ here and this _______ here.

    • You are ____. Last time you played here you______. I wonder _________.  


    Every child is at different developmental levels whatever your child creates is great do not tell them what to do or do it for them, it will just hold them back.
