Greeting Families, 
During the time off due to COVID-19 I will be calling families to assist them in continuing to educate children from home. Daily I will be posting assignments based on the curriculum for 3-K.

Question for the Week:
What are some things that move?

Weekly Foundational Read-Aloud: 
A Hop Is Up by Kristy Dempsey

Questions to ask your child in response to the read-aloud:

·  What are some of the ways the people and things in this book move? 
·  Let’s try some of the moves from the book. Can you hop up? Spin around? Leap? March? Etc. 

·      What are some other ways you can move your body? Let’s give them a try!


Learn at Home activity for today:
Scissor Fun:
Using scissors with the supervision of an adult, please cut out a variety of shapes.  Shapes can consist of a triangle, circle, square, and rectangle.  When you are finished cutting your shapes, please use glue to paste them on a separate sheet of paper.  As your child is gluing their shapes on a separate sheet of paper, count the number of shapes together.

Blocks:
The children will continue to used unit blocks and other materials to put together and build. 

Art:
The children will be invited to the art center to explore paint containers, a paint brushes and papers. Teachers will continue to assist children. children will also be provided with various other artistic materials. Children will continue to learn how to use different materials to create different artistic projects. 

Sensory:
The children will be invited to explore a small amount of sand and a few toys, they will also play with water at the water table. The children will learn where these materials can be found and how to follow safety reminders about sand and water use (ex: washing hands before and after sand and water use). 

Science:
The teacher will show children a collection of natural objects. The teacher will model how they might begin to explore some of the materials.  The children will learn where they can find these materials and how to put them away when finished. 

Math:
The teachers will invite children to the math center to explore puzzles, manipulatives, and mathematical toys.  The teachers will model engages in conversations with children and assist them. 

Library:
The students will explore books, read book, play with puppets and act out stories.
