Questions to ask your child in response to the read-aloud:
  1. Why did the pigeon need to take a bath?
  2. At the beginning of the book the pigeon did not want to take a bath. What happened at the end of the book?
  3. Why is it important to wash your hands and keep your body clean?


Suggested Text 
  1. This book talks about the things people can do with their hands to show they care. What are some of the things the people in this book do to care for each other? 
  2. Remember when the big child was helping the little child? Have you ever helped someone smaller than you? What did you do to help? 
  3. An adult in this book gives a hug to a child who was feeling sad. What else can we do to help people when they feel sad? 
Activity
Collect different recycle items, boxes, cardboard, toilet paper roll, and more.. invite your child to use his or her imagination to create a vehicle, a form or transportation that is used in the city. 

Suggested questions during activity

Ask the children to just play and feel how soothing it is. Also, allow children to use toy tools or kitchen tools so that they can play using the sensory materials. During this activity children will explore the properties of the pourable materials on the table as well as the materials for scooping and pouring such as cups, scoops and shovels. You can use it that a calming exercises or a way to keep children entertained.
